About

KurtPic2022Circle.jpg

I've been teaching since 2009, and have taught adults and children at yoga centers, wellness studios, clinics, companies of all sizes in various industries, local and state government, churches, private and public schools,  university settings and for university-based research.  Group sizes have ranged from small private groups to large radio/tv publicized events.

Teaching meditation is my second career. From 1987 through 2004, I worked in business--as a co-founder or manager of various businesses and am still on the board of a mid-sized, global industrial corporation. I also helped start and run a small mental health education program for families in Ann Arbor, Michigan for about 12 years.

In 2004, after about 9 years of daily practice, I took a number of years off to go into meditation full-time with intense personal and teacher-led group retreats.  My experience includes 28 years of daily meditation. I have taken classes and done retreats with teachers in various traditions, including teacher trainings.

I am certified as a Mindfulness Teacher (Professional Level, CMT-P) by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association, a guiding professional association for the mindfulness field. My formal education includes a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (1990) and an MBA (1993), both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and coaching training from CTI in 2009.

I am married with one child and live in East Lansing, Michigan. I speak fluent German.

If you would like specific information about my experience with meditation or if you'd like references, please contact me and I'll be happy to provide that.
