What makes these classes unique? They are non-denominational and experiential and we include scientific evidence in the discussions. That's what I was looking for in my practice and that's what I try to provide. What that means is that meditation is a human experience, and that anyone from any religion (or no religion) can meditate and experience peace and joy, and that it's scientifically proven. It works.

In the beginner class, you'll learn what meditation is, how it works, and its benefits. You'll hear about how practically all meditation techniques can be categorized into a few groups. We'll explore a number of techniques and practice them. We'll also discuss the logistics of meditation: how and when to do it so it works for you. Our goal is for you to have a regular practice, to get a feel for the meditative landscape, experience a reduction in stress, and get a glimpse of what is possible with meditation.

The continuing class is for people who want a regular meditation night who have taken a beginner class or have related experience. We build off of the beginner class and the approaches you learned and work through meditation obstacles and opportunities. Typical sessions include more in-depth instruction, a regular meditation-related talk and longer practice times.

In-person classes are at Center For Yoga ("CFY") in East Lansing on Thursdays. Skype classes are at your home on skype at convenient times for you. I also teach classes for groups at your location (please contact me to discuss).
